When will my daughter be ready for pointe work?
Pointe work is an exciting experience for any dancer. But it is key that the proper foundation be built prior to moving to pointe. To reduce the chance of injury it is important for each student to build up enough strength in their ankles to properly perform on pointe. The director, Edwina Castle, will determine when the class is ready to begin working on pointe.

How do I register for classes?
Please download and fill out our Registration form and bring it to the first class. We also have forms available at the Studio. We accept payment of either check or cash.

May I register in the middle of a semester?
We recommend that your child begins class as close to the beginning of the semester as possible. This will ensure that he/she gets the best experience possible and doesn’t miss any of the important skills learned in the class. We do have non-performance classes, call for more information.

When is tuition due?
Tuition is due first week of each month from September through May and will be applied to the upcoming month classes. A payment box is in the studio, please remember to write your child’s name and class time on the check. A late fee will be charged for tuition that is received after the 20th of the month.

May I “sit in” and watch my child’s class?
Observation day is during the first lesson of each month. Exceptions may be made for out of town relatives. Learning dance is not just a matter of having a qualified teacher, but also having an environment that is focused on dance education. In a professional school environment, a student cannot be distracted by parents, siblings or other outside influences.

If my child misses a class is there a refund or a make up class?
Class prices are based monthly, therefore there are no refunds. However, your child is welcome to make up a class missed, providing there is another class offered, and you schedule the “make-up” in advance.

Will there be a dance recital?
Gallery Ballet & Dance has two performances annually. Our academic performance in December highlights the mastery of classical technique and includes seasonal dances. Gallery Ballet & Dance presents a feature full length classical ballet in June. Levels IV-VIII dancers perform at community events; attend Master Classes hosted by Gallery Ballet; perform in OBT or EBC Nutcracker; and have the option to enter regional dance competitions. Adult students have an option to perform or take classes for pleasure.

When do I order a costume and when are the fees due?
Dance recital costumes are ordered in January. The majority of dance costumes average $40.00-$75.00. There is a “small” chance costumes can be ordered after January, but may be a “rush fee” added.
